Sustainability & Ethics

At Solara, we believe luxury should be intentional. Every piece we create is designed with care for the person who wears it, the people who craft it, and the impact each garment leaves behind. Our approach to sustainability and ethics is rooted in transparency, responsible sourcing, and thoughtful production.

We are not perfect, but we are committed to continuous improvement and honest practices as we grow.

RESPONSIBLE MATERIALS

Our women’s swim collections are crafted using a combination of premium recycled nylon and premium standard nylon, depending on the specialty fabrics and finishes required for each design. Select styles are made from recycled nylon fibers, helping reduce waste and reliance on virgin materials. Specialty styles featuring plissé textures, gold foil finishes, and macramé detailing are made using premium standard nylon due to performance and design requirements.

Our men’s swim styles are crafted from durable premium polyester, selected for comfort, performance, and longevity.

All fabrics are chosen for durability, comfort, and longevity — supporting a longer garment life cycle. We prioritize quality that lasts, because longevity is one of the most meaningful forms of sustainability.

NON‑TOXIC DYEING

All Solara swimwear is dyed using non‑toxic dyes certified under OEKO‑TEX Standard 100. This means our fabrics are tested for harmful substances and deemed safe for direct contact with your skin.

This commitment helps protect:

  • Our customers
  • Our production teams
  • Local water systems surrounding our factories

ETHICAL MANUFACTURING

All Solara pieces are produced in a BSCI‑certified factory in China. This certification ensures that our manufacturing partners meet strict standards for:

  • Fair wages
  • Safe working conditions
  • Reasonable working hours
  • Zero tolerance for child or forced labor

We work closely with our partners to ensure these standards are continuously upheld.

LIMITED‑BATCH PRODUCTION

We intentionally produce our collections in limited quantities to minimize excess inventory, prevent over‑manufacturing, and reduce textile waste. Rather than mass production, we adopt a slower, more thoughtful approach that prioritizes quality over volume.

Limited runs allow us to:

  • Maintain higher construction standards
  • Reduce unsold stock
  • Preserve craftsmanship and exclusivity

PACKAGING & SHIPPING

Where possible, we use minimal and recyclable packaging materials to reduce unnecessary waste in fulfillment. As Solara continues to grow, we are actively exploring more sustainable packaging solutions that align with our values and long‑term goals.

OUR ONGOING COMMITMENT

Sustainability is a journey, not a finished destination. As Solara evolves, we are committed to:

  • Expanding the use of recycled and lower‑impact materials
  • Improving supply‑chain transparency
  • Reducing packaging waste
  • Partnering with responsible fabric mills and manufacturers
  • We believe real progress comes from consistent, honest action — not perfection.

Every Solara piece is designed with intention. Our goal is to create luxury swimwear that not only looks beautiful, but is made with integrity, responsibility, and respect for the entire process behind it.
